Growing up on the central coast, Lucas did not see his travels taking him to Sydney. Lucas has always had a passion for film and animation. During his childhood, he began making short stop-motion films with his dad and was creative in his high school studies, interested in art and storytelling. Once he finished his high school education, the next stage of his journey took him to JMC Academy where they offered character design and storytelling classes.
At JMC Academy, he was chosen to direct his first project, Food Fight, which challenged him and gave him the skills to continue this creative journey to the next stage. During his time there, he met a lot of wonderful like-minded people, who would become his teammates on many projects; he would work with them later on again throughout his journey at UTS Animal Logic Academy.
UTS Animal Logic Academy was the second stage of his creative industry journey. Before starting, he was torn between storytelling and character design. After careful consideration, he went with something he had not had much experience in but was something that is very important to the storytelling process of an animated project. He chose to specialise in Layout and Previs which helped him progress his skills in storytelling through the camera, along with skills in cinematography, composition, and camera language.
Lucas has graduated from the Master of Animation at UTS Animal Logic Academy. He has now worked at two animation companies in 2023, Pop Family Entertainment and now Flying Bark as a Junior Layout Artist. Lucas thanks you for coming on this journey with him and hopes to work with you in the near future.
